No matter how established a band may be, they have nothing without their fans. You would think that would be a simple concept to understand, but for many artists and groups nowadays, that ideal seems to fall short. Well for one metal band that has been the inspiration of countless others, giving the fans their all has been at the core of their existence.
“Without your fans, you’ve got nothing.”
JUDAS PRIEST is quickly heading towards their 50th anniversary; but even after all that time, they have not lost sight of where they are and what has afforded them to get there. A constant commitment to keep pushing to create the best music they can, and give their fans the best show possible, has helped more than they ever thought it would. You see, the timeline that is the mighty “Priest” has lasted longer than even they expected! The fact that they still get to step out onto stages all over the globe is no less of a thrill now than it was when they started.
I recently had the chance to sit down with Judas Priest vocalist Rob Halford, and dig a little deeper into the psyche of the “Metal God”. Take a listen to our chat about the band’s forthcoming album ‘FIREPOWER’, the concerns of being on tour again, being pushed while recording, and how music is a job for some. Remember though, no matter how many times you take those stages, it’s still a thrill to hear them chanting your name!
