The Amatory Murder is an alternative rock n’ roll project founded by Christian Peppas (also known as his alias ‘Xian’) in Brooklyn, New York. Xian and his band employ a variety of foundational sounds utilizing synthetic atmospheres, piano and programmed beat arrangements. Mixed with organic drums, heavy guitars and catchy hooks, the tracks are then topped off with angsty (and sometimes political) lyrics.
Currently, the lineup includes Fox Zozo (Bass Guitar), Scott Genovese (Drums/Percussion) and “Governor” Christian Buckleywho recently joined the band after the departure of the previous guitarist for The Amatory Murder. All albums and recordings thus far have been engineered, produced, financed and released entirely by the band themselves. Everything is done in-house.
In addition to regional touring and sharing the stage with acts including JulienK, The Dreaming, Megosh, My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, and Blood On The Dance Floor, The Amatory Murder have been playing out in promotion of their two most recent endeavors. F*ck It! We’ll Do It Live (At King Killer)! is a live album recorded in June 2016 during a show at their home base of King Killer Studios; Neurotica is their newest full length studio album released at the end of 2016, and arguably their most accessible to date. Neuroticaincludes their singles/music videos “The Deadliest Rose,” “U & I,” and the title track, “Neurotica”. 2015 saw the release of the band’s single “My Nightmare” accompanied by a music video. In 2014 The Amatory Murder released their EP Exploiting Our Dreams which included the single/video for ‘A Haunting’.
The Amatory Murder have a dedicated following in the alternative/modern rock scenes but their break through sound connects to audiences on all levels with dynamic choruses and energetic beats. They strive to make direct connections with their fans via music that embodies emotions we all have hidden within. The writing and arrangement of each track is crafted in order to get their message across to as diverse an audience as possible. They have a very clear vision of what they want the future to hold for them and understand it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to get there – no corners can be cut. The Amatory Murder ultimately plan on taking the world’s stage, winning over each being at a time with their unique, enduring sound.
