Atlanta delivers another hard hitter with four piece metalcore band Tetrarch. The band however has recently pulled up stake and moved to Los Angeles. People are turning their heads in anticipation of the quickly rising band since they have been out promoting their album Freak. Tetrarch is currently on tour supporting DevilDriver with 36 Crazyfists, Cane Hill and Uncured.
With influences like metal icons Slipknot and Korn, Tetrarch follows suit with a boisterous sound and addictive melodic metal lyrics. The band tows the line with radio friendly tracks like the slowed down “Torn Apart” and catchy “Freak,” but the majority of Freak provides much more aggression. “Pull the Trigger” is a pounding anthem with macabre subject matter. If you like it dark and physical you’ll love “Spit” and be saying “don’t stop”‘ right along with vocalist Josh Fore.
“In the darkness the strange become ordinary”
Freak is a call to arms for those who feel out of place or oddities of social norm. Intense drums are a continual theme from Ruben Limas. If the album doesn’t sell you on that face, check out the pic of their merch booth on Instagram. Those cymbals look like sharks have taken out more than just a nibble. Alongside tumultuous drums are heavy guitar skills out of Diamond Rowe. She’s receiving lots of attention from the music world not only for her skills, but for being outside the norm of the white male dominated drum scene. Diamond can already add endorsements from Ernie Ball and ESP Guitars to her resume.
Tetrarch provide a mosh pit, windmill worthy, full length album debut that is sure to entertain. Producer Dave Otero (Cattle Decapitation, Allegeon, Khemmis) worked with the four to create a well rounded and mature sound. Freak is set to release September 29th, so grab a pre-order and other killer merch on their website.
