Tempo-sprints and rotating melodies twirl around drum-mastery in Countdowns. With perfected pauses and precision drops, Soldiers of Wrong War march punching vocals to victory in this creative glory.
“We Will Never Fall” is a conquering track decorated with chants and echoes. It’s a battle anthem urging to keep up the fight, take the next hit, and push harder.
“Clocks” brings it down and offers the opportunity for breath-catching. The metronome backdrop, strings, and heart-pounding beats leave contradictory calmness against climactic urgency. “Clocks” is the in-between, the inner-dispute, the movement of time captured within rock audio.
Countdown is a collective of creativity. “In Our Skin” is raw vulnerability, stripped of its protective outer shell, and exposed for our listening pleasure. They found us, our true selves, and displayed it in guitar-work and vocal-beauty. Just as the many aspects of our character jump from one emotional level to the next, so does Countdown. They’ve showed us turbulence throughout the album, but in “Yeah!” Soldiers of Wrong War up-rooted our restlessness and composed a song from it.
This album is a ten-track dictation of the many aspects of personality. It’s our essence, separated, stripped, and understood. Find yourself in the music; listen to Countdown.
