The local talent in Soldiers of Solace comes as no surprise in the local metal scene. Vocalist Jason Longo, with his great vocal range, is nothing short of a star. This relatively new band, out of Connecticut, has been hitting the pavement hard to bring their name into the light.
Back in September, Soldiers of Solace was dubbed iRockRadio’s band of the month, an online digital radio station based in Farmington, CT. The station holds fan voted competitions monthly, where a local band is chosen, played in their regular rotation, and given national exposure. iRockRadio has over 50,000 listeners in the area, and is the brainchild of Mike Karolyi and Stephen Wayne, formerly of The Rock 106.9 WCCC.
These two guys make it easy for the talented come-ups in the state to be seen and heard. With the award of “Band of the Month,” Soldiers gained enough exposure and made the bill to open for Jasta, Scott Stapp (of Creed), and for Nonpoint on more than one occasion.
Soldiers of Solace was signed with Rock N Growl Records in Europe and is currently in the studio to produce their first full length record. Soldiers currently has three songs recorded and their show at The Webster Theater featured all of them. They were “Cold As a Stone,” “Freedom’s Children,” and “Rude Awakening.”
Keep your eyes peeled for new singles, tour dates, and when the new record is expected to be out.
