Mat Sinner is a guy who doesn’t know how to take it easy. He is involved in several musical projects including: Primal Fear, the “Rock meets Classic” project, Voodoo Circle, and of course, his band Sinner. Sinner’s newest release is Tequila Suicide and this album rocks. The song writing is top notch and Sinner has recruited a number of guest musicians for the album including: Gus G of Ozzy Osbourne and Firewind, Ricky Warwick (The Almighty and Thin Lizzy), Magnus Karlsson (Primal Fear), and Pete Lincoln (Sailor and Sweet).
Tequila Suicide is a straight up Rock and Roll album with a couple of surprises. The first track on the album is “Go Down Fighting.” This track has hints of Andrew WK meets Social Distortion. It has a fast pace and grabs you right away. Track two is the title track and has hints of punk in it. The lyrics in this song are very catchy:
Tonight nobody dies
This time we’re gonna do it right
Baby that’s all right
It’s just another tequila suicide”
My favorite song is easily “Dragons.” Sinner is not talking about the mythical creatures found in a J.R.R. Tolkien novel. These dragons can be much more dangerous; yes, they are talking about beautiful women.
The song takes a mythological style to the lyrics:
“Dragons are real I can’t argue with the facts
Dragons betray and stab you in the back
Dragons are real cause a wizard told me”
If you are a fan of Sinner you will not be disappointed with Tequila Suicide. If you have never heard Sinner, this is a great album to get your feet wet. Tequila Suicide will be available on March 31, 2017.
