The alt-rock scene has a new and awesome addition to its ranks. You may be asking yourself, who is it? Well, it’s none other than the Russian band known as Remark. When I found out this band was being compared to the sounds of other favorite bands like Three Days Grace, Black Stone Cherry and Stone Sour I knew immediately I would like this band. I’ll say this they did not disappoint me.
I listened to their self-titled new album and found from the first smooth riffs in their lead song, “FALLING,” I was hooked. I am a huge fan of this style and sound of music.
I asked myself, is this band that comes from across the seas? Remark is comprised of Lead Singer-Yanas, Guitarist-Den, bassist-Ivan, and Drummer-Timi. Some thing you can expect from this album are a good mix of smooth guitars, heavy riffs, pulse pounding drums, and clear lyrics. It’s a very good mix of sounds. Some of my favorite songs from this album are the lead song “Falling,” “Pussy Queen,” and “Wild Run.” You can hear the passion in the music as it is played perfectly. Each instrument, including vocals, blend smoothly; nothing drowns the other out. This band fits the mold of many popular bands in the Alt-rock scene and I think they have a very bright future ahead of them.
Founded in 2009 and based out of Moscow, Russia this band is quickly garnering a lot of attention. As of right now, Remark is still a diamond in the rough, having not been signed to any major record labels yet, but I don’t think it will be long before that all changes.
Be on the lookout for these Russian Rockers and check out their new album Remark available now on ITunes. Check out their official music video for their song “Falling” on below.
I hope to see them touring the U.S, supporting the acts I listed above because I would be sure to make that show. Give them a listen, I think you will like what you hear.
