Geoff Tate returns with the second part of the his trilogy, Resurrection, a new release out on Frontiers Records. If you have been living under a rock for the last four years or so, Tate fronts his owns band now, having left Queensryche, and puts out some great music as only he knows how to. “Left for Dead,” has a dark feel to it and in my opinion, has some metaphoric lyrics for his ex-bandmates in it. “The Fight” is part rocker, part ballad and is beautifully composed. Tate’s voice is distinctive to us old school rockers and it’s always a pure delight to hear him sing. “Taking on the World” is an incredible rocker with guests Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens and Blaze Bayley singing along with him. On a side note, look for these three out on tour together this November in a band called Trinity. Song? “Into the Hands of the World” will satisfy all you Tate lovers even more. The way he sings is very dark, original and meticulous and this song showcases all of these traits. If you are looking for some new music, go online or down to your local record store and pick up this gem.
