When Nonpoint is on tour, they usually make it a point to come to Connecticut, where there are tons of die-hard fans. The Webster Theater, known for bringing in some amazing metal acts, hosted the night. Three local bands set the tone for Nonpoint. Enemy Remains, Soldiers of Solace, and In The Red rocked the house before tour supporters Weapons of Anew opened for Nonpoint.
The crowd had a huge local draw as all of the openers were from the area. Each opener had short, but sweet, 20-minute sets. When it was time for Nonpoint, they had their own killer light setup, with some sweet back lighting, creating awesome shadows for the well-known head banging and dreadlock having metal act.
When Nonpoint is a support act for a tour, they usually don’t get to play a very full set. This night was special since it was their night in Hartford. With 16 songs, they played some amazing hard-hitting fan favorites like “Miracle,” and “Hands Off,” where the whole crowd is told to “follow the bouncing ball” and leave your feet. They also played the other favorites: “Breaking Skin,” “El Diablo,” “Generation Idiot,” heavy masterpiece “My Last Dying Breath,” and of course “Bullet With a Name.”
The night was simply amazing. Immediately following their set, Nonpoint made their way to the merchandise area like they always do, to say hello and greet their fans. They took photos, signed autographs, and had some cool conversations.
Nonpoint is currently on the road with Weapons of Anew and Alter Bridge and have two weeks left on the tour.
Catch them on the road soon, since when this tour wraps up, it’ll be some down time for the band, then hints of possible studio time.
