New England’s NOMAD STONES have released a free digital EP entitled Neighborhood Bird Disputevia Bandcamp. Recorded at Converse Rubber Tracks Studio this past March, the new EP comes hot on the heels of the band’s debut self-titled full-length, released this past summer and contains two new songs along with a David Bowie cover.
Guitarist/vocalist Adam McGrath had this to say about the new material:
“Nomad Stones got a great opportunity to crank out two new songs and a David Bowie cover at Converse Rubber Tracks in downtown Boston with The Neighborhoods/Replacements Dave Minehan at the controls. Further exploration of the Drop A sound with an attempt at David Bowie’s classic: “Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps)”
Formed in late 2015 and led by Adam McGrath (Cave In, Zozobra, Clouds) and JR Conners (Cave In, Doomriders, ex-Goatsnake, etc), NOMAD STONES come out the gate with a burst of barn burning jams on their incredible self-titled debut album. The entire album can be streamed via Decibel Magazine HERE. Additionally the band will be playing August 10th at Webster Hall with Piebald as part of their upcoming reunion shows.
Combining the heavy guitar crunch, wanky solos and infectious sensibility of Dinosaur JR with the punk urgency and raw aggression of Black Flag, NOMAD STONES bring a fiery and fuzzy, rock n’ roll energy across eight tracks of driving, no-nonsense shredders. The album was completed in January 2016 and recorded with Richard Marr at Galaxy Park Studios in Watertown, MA. Nomad Stones was released this past August via Brutal Panda Records on LP/Digital formats. The record, featuring gorgeous cover art from Converge’s Jacob Bannon, can be physically ordered HERE and digitally HERE.
Haunted by electric guitars and FX pedal neon-distorted dreams, a New England Power Trio was needed and formed in late 2015 by Adam McGrath (Cave In, Zozobra, Clouds), JR Conners (Cave In, Doomriders, ex-Goatsnake, etc), and Erik Szyska. NOMAD STONES was born out of scheduling harmony and a Merrimack Valley Massachusetts connection. Hustling the long accumulated and embedded influences of Johnny Thunders, Augustus Pablo, Wipers, Misfits, Dinosaur JR and Deep Purple, Nomad Stones bring 8 barn burning songs to the table on their self-titled debut album, set for release in August via Brutal Panda Records. The band will bring their infectious energy to the road throughout 2017 and has already played a number of high profile gigs with Mutoid Man, United Nations and numerous others.
