Instrumentalist Marty Friedman returns with a new album titled Wall of Sound on Prosthetic Records, and as usual, it’s some great music to listen too. Labled one of the fastest guitarists out there back in his younger days, the 54 year old is a perfectionist on the six string in my opinion. His playing is unique, hard, and exceptional all at the same time. This album is toned down a notch from his last, Inferno, but I like that. It shows a different side to him. “Miracle” is one of those songs. “The Last Lament” is as well. Very meticulous and very different for Friedman. He does rock out though like the Marty you all know and love. “Whiteworm” is just classic Friedman and he is playing this song live on his tour right now. “Something To Fight” is the gem on this album. Fast, hard, and with vocals by Jorgen Munkelby of the band Shining, this song is just plain heavy. Produced by Marty himself, this album is worth a listen for guitar enthusiasts and I recommend it.
