Don’t miss Crobot’s set at Louder Than Life. I’m not kidding. If you’ve never seen them perform live, you are in for a musical, physical, sensual blast, like two planets colliding. Their first album, Something Supernatural, was released in October 2014. Inspired by sci-fi, comic books, and stories of the supernatural, frontman Brandon Yeagley, guitarist Chris Bishop, drummer Paul Figueroa and his brother, bassist Jake Figueroa, spin an audience around a venue in a whirlwind of music and motion, lights and color.
They promoted the first album relentlessly by touring the globe, playing the smallest of venues to the largest of festivals, sharing bills with local bands as well as hard rock’s royalty. By the end of 2015, their next album had begun to take shape, and the beginning of 2016 found them in Austin, Texas to record it.
Welcome To Fat City is Something Supernatural’s wilder, crazier, younger brother. Crobot’s experiences on the road, in the world, living the life, has given birth to the next generation of “dirty, rock, groove.” Fat City is aggressive, funky, and heavy with bluesy ribbons curling through like caramel in praline ice cream.
These guys have undeniable stage presence. From Brandon dancing with the mic stand, Bishop jumping off the amps and slinging his guitar with perfect timing, to Paul’s animated pounding of the skins, and Jake’s physicality keeping the beat with his bass guitars—one of which, he built himself—it’s an experience not easily forgotten.
So get ready Louder Than Life! Here comes Crobot and Welcome To Fat City!
