Lita Ford has nothing left to accomplish but still brings it like she does. Besides keeping herself incredibly fit, she still sounds great.
Her set at Rams Head Center Stage was very intimate. No openers, just her and a meet and greet at the end. She put together a great set of classics like “Out For Blood,” “Close My Eyes Forever,” “Shot Of Poison,” and, of course, “Kiss Me Deadly.”
Lita has surrounded herself with a very solid band featuring Bobby Rock from Vinnie Vincent Invasion on drums and Patrick Kennison on guitar. For such a small show I have to give Lita a lot of credit for fully delivering. Now, don’t get me wrong; we can talk for hours about how that’s what they’re supposed to do because we bought the records and went to the shows and bought the merch, etc. to give them their careers. It still is about the artist killing it regardless of the size of the crowd and Lita fully did that. Great guitar tone and a tight band sound, and Patrick has incredible vocal ability. Their version of “Close My Eyes Forever” is terrific.
My biggest issue is the venue. It’s not about sound or lighting. My issue is the way they try to make their concerts into seated events. It’s a rock show. Nobody wants to deal with that shit. People want to dance, sing and mingle with friends and make new friends so put the chairs away.
