What do you think of when you hear these words: kiwi, didgeridoo, metal? If you don’t think Like A Storm then I’m not sure where you’ve been for the last nine years. In case some of you are oblivious, let me fill you in. Like A Storm is comprised of three brothers from New Zealand and their American drummer. The Brooks brothers, Matt (guitar), Kent (bass), and Chris (vocalist, guitar, didgeridoo), along with Zack (drummer) joined to create their own unique sound. The use of the didgeridoo in their songs created the term “didgeridoo metal.”
They had their inaugural Shiprocked in 2016 and became a favorite after-cruiser requests for a repeat, so they were brought back in 2018. Shockwave was able to sit down and talk to the guys about what it’s like to self-produce and put together an album with the members in different time zones.
