I stumbled upon this band as I was casually browsing Facebook. This is how I have grown to love Letters from the Fire, Eva Under Fire, and others. There is something about this band that puts them next to my all-time favorites. It is the cohesiveness of the sound, how well thought out each rhythm is, and how well-placed the lyrics are that makes this band great quality. The sound they have is almost like Nickelback, but a lot grittier. Don’t crucify me yet, hear me out.
Lightfall hales from Dallas, Texas. They recently released their newest five track EP called Uncharted. When I first saw the video for “Who We are,” I loved the song. I loved the powerful message that came along with the video, but since it was only one song, I had to listen to the rest of the EP. Needless to say, I was floored. These guys are extremely talented and upon my researching of this band, I can tell you they are absolutely not a Christian Rock Group.
I loved the sound of “Serenity” (this is where my Nickelback description comes in to play). Imagine Nickelback going a whole lot darker with the lyrics, and faster and heavier with the beats and guitar riffs. You have created Lightfall in a nutshell. I love this band and I foresee them doing big things in the future.
Anyone who can turn a Nickelback-feel, make it their own, and make it a whole heck of a lot darker and grittier gets the Lateefah Stamp of Approval. I want to see these guys on tour someday, because they have the potential to draw out a large crowd. They will completely mystify you and have you go on an uncharted (pun intended) journey. Go pick up your copy of Uncharted today on iTunes.
