If anyone can put a metal spin on those songs you secretly hum… you know the ones… the bubblegum pop that you refuse to acknowledge you know, then this man right here can. In fact, if you search his You Tube channel, he probably has. Leo Moracchioli has made a name for himself doing covers of songs, such as “Hello,” “Poker Face,” and even “Cotton Eye Joe.”
Leo got his start as a wedding singer and only put up his cover of “Poker Face” as a lark, never imagining it to gain the number of views it did. Those numbers only continued to grow with his next covers. His wife, a bassist herself, and six-year old daughter make appearances in some of the videos. Being a family man, he admits that while he does have a band he really doesn’t want to commit to the tour life.
I (and Tech Guy) was lucky enough to catch up with Leo as he traveled with Shiprocked before his next stop at NAMM 2018.
