It’s no secret that Michigan has given us a lot of great musicians, such as Alice Cooper, George Clinton, and Bob Seger. It’s time to add another name to the list, Kaleido.
Kaleido is a female fronted quintet out of Flint, Michigan. They describe their music as straight up rock. Having been together for five years has allowed the group to hone their skills and in May 2017, they released their first full length album, Experience. Experience debuted at number 11 on Soundscan’s Top New Artist chart. In 2013 and 2014, they were named as Best Band by Detroit Weekly. They have been a powerhouse on the festival circuit, playing Vans Warped Tour, Rockstar Uproar, Summerfest and CMJ Music Marathon. Touring seems to be their driving force having opened for headliners such as Aerosmith, Halestorm, Evanescence, Twenty One Pilots, and more.
Shockwave caught up with them on their first ever Shiprocked to discuss everything from how they got their start to who they listen to as they cry in their beer.
