German power metal legends Iron Savior return with a best of, sort of, with Reforged-Riding On Fire on AFM Records. For legal reasons, the band can’t re-release their past albums on Noise Records in their initial form, so what to do? Re-record some classic hits from those albums and put it out as a new release. Here on this album are 19 re-recorded favorites which include “Battering Ram,” “Watcher in the Sky,” “Warrior,” “Atlantis Falling,” and “Condition Red.” Lead singer and founding member Piet Sielck, wanting to re-release these albums from 1997-2004 but can’t, can re-record and import them and that is exactly what he did, making them more thunderous than the original versions. New drummer Patrick Klose makes his debut on here as well as he took over drumming duties from longtime member Thomas Nack who left in early 2017. So if you don’t have any of Iron Savior’s early stuff, pick up this disc and find out what you have been missing.
