“With spacious, softspoken vocals that draw you in with heart-on -sleeve emotion and spine-tingling production” -Neon Gold
Indie-pop artist Ryan Egan has premiered“Tongue of Yours” exclusively with LADYGU NN. The emerging artist/producer/multi- instrumentalist has been making moves across NYC’s music scene, including a recent appearance at Billboard’s Hot 100 Festival, and is set to release his sophomore EP, Fever & Bloom, on December 1ST.
At its core, “Tongue of Yours” embodies pop’s key ingredients, but is cloaked in a psychedelic, neo-soul glaze and filled with curious sonic elements. Egan conceived the song with two injured hands and in the absence of instruments. He sang all the chords and programmed the drums, a highly unique and cerebral arrangement that wouldn’t have existed had the singer-songwriter not taken an extra step for creativity in the recording process.
Egan shares that making “Tongue of Yours” was different on various levels and an older track he originally neglected to finish. He adds, “There is a perceived darkness to the layers of vocals, due to pessimistic feelings at the time, but also a sort of anxious intensity because he was inspired by the restrictions he was working with.”
“Easy To Lose”, the first single on Fever & Bloom, premiered on Line of Best Fit, and Ryan’s highly acclaimed debut EP, Postures, has gained praise from outlets such as Billboard, Noisey, Pigeons & Planes, Neon Gold and more for emotive songwriting and evocative delivery. The forthcoming 4-track EP was produced by Ariel Loh (Yoke Lore,
Drinkerr, Cape Francis, Glassio.)
NYC fans can catch Ryan Egan at the next installment of Communion Music on Tuesday, October 3rd at Rockwood Music Hall. Tickets and full line-up available HERE.
