When Shockwave started printing again back in 2007, we were adopted into a family of bands and friends at a cool venue called Sinix (formerly Macs the Club). The club was just changing over, and Frank would begin to let us rebuild our brand there. We will be forever grateful to him and the bands that played our shows, despite our inexperience. Ghost of War was one of those bands who allowed us to use their notoriety to gain validation.
Since then, Ghost of War has become a full-fledged local (and beyond) Metal icon band — the band that not only has put in the time, but has the talent to be considered as an opener for nationally touring bands. If that weren't enough, Ronnie Peterson, Thane Farace, Jim Mathis and Gary Daniels also are there to assist with benefit shows that help others. This band is all about the music, but they are also down to earth and genuine. They are sponsored by Jagermeister and others because they know talent when they see it, but again, at the end of the day, it's about the music.
They've opened up for or shared the stage with Joey Belladonna from Anthrax, Geoff Tate, Ratt, and Randy Jackson, and they perform with Neil Turban and their project Bloodied Angels, as well as Ronny Munroe from Metal Church for a project at this year's Voices of Metal. I'm told that they are also working on some other "big things," but the lovely Jenn Faraci would not reveal any more. I guess we'll have to wait. With that being said, I highly recommend that you check out their new disc, called Only Death Is Real, or go to www.ghostofwararmy.com to see what everyone else already knows about the band...
