With a unique style of classic 80’s thrash metal, combined with a love for modern day nerdism, Gamma Bomb has cemented a different and stylish core for metal. Utilizing humorous perspectives and an up-beat speediness throughout their riffs and gifts of thrashing into our souls, Untouchable Glory exemplifies true musicianship. Every track is in keeping with the tone of Gamma Bomb. You won’t miss one beat as you endlessly head-bang to the entire album.
Their lyrics are absurd in all the right ways, stemming from a long bond the band members share for quirky thrash music and classic kung-fu films. One notable track, “Drinkers Inc.,” is a ridiculously bad ass ballad with the message of getting trashed with no remorse for your own liver. Another, “Witch Mania,” emphasizes their passion for certain pop culture references that have gained them popularity in Europe. Gamma Bomb is an intelligent band that understands their lyrics catch the audience in a way most artists fail to.
For those who do get the references, Gamma Bomb becomes quite the sui generis of experiences in today’s metal. Their lyrics are at times silly, bringing a teeth-grinding grin to our faces, while other times you can’t help but bask in the cleverness and wordplay. We can only pray as true fans of music that Gamma Bomb bring their beery live shows to the rest of the world to hear. Gamma Bomb has been signed to AFM for a couple years now and plan to release The Terror Tapes along with Untouchable Glory this October.
