Disturbed and Nonpoint combined forces to bring an indisputably powerful performance to the House of Blues San Diego on Sunday March 20, 2016.
Disturbed’s stunning set proved that radio airplay could never prepare you for the visceral intensity that the Chicago rock titans offer in a live show. David Draiman delivered an unmistakable, commanding and hypnotic vocal performance backed by the group’s distinct shredding and harmonization to a very satisfied sold out crowd. Midway through the set, the band struck slower, artful notes with cello, timpani drum and acoustic executions of Darkness and The Sound of Silence.
As the night began to spin down, Disturbed covered hits from Nine Inch Nails, U2 and others in renditions consisting of power chords and howling vocals that offered a fresh addition to the long set list. The crowd roared as Draiman was joined on stage by Nonpoint’s Elias Soriano to thrash out an unholy and gritty rendition of Rage Against the Machine’s Killing in the Name. Once again, Disturbed has proven its status among rock legends and San Diego has experienced the thrill. Until we meet again, legion.
