DED came out of the gate last year fast, hard, and hungry. Before their album, Mis•An•Thrope, was released in July 2017, the band had already amassed fans nationwide and landed themselves on SiriusXM Octane’s top 50 with “Anti-Everything.” While they had already released “FMFY” in December 2016, it was with the release of “Anti-Everything” that they firmly cemented themselves in the metal arena. They played all the major music festivals, such as Carolina Rebellion and Rock on the Range, were nominated for Loudwire’s Best New Artist, and walked the red carpet at Alternative Press Music Awards. Having already toured with Korn and Stone Sour in 2017, DED started their year onboard the Shiprocked cruise. After docking, they jumped back on tour with In This Moment, New Year’s Day, and P.O.D.
Shockwave was fortunate enough to talk to Kyle (bass player) and Matt (drummer) while the ship was in the port of Half Moon Cay.
