London, UK based duo Colt 48 may have only formed in June of this year, but they have certainly been making waves in the music industry and in turn, have achieved so much in a short space of time.
The EP opens with “Hate Hate Relationship” which is a heavy, gritty and a fast powered number. The sounds of hate bleed through and smash you right in the gut. It’s hard as nails, which doesn’t have any intention of shattering. The track is home to solid, structured drumming, as it holds everything firmly together, while dirty guitars dig deep and don’t let slip.
“Vindictive” follows down the same path, as it launches itself forward without hesitation. It’s a very infectious track which will have you singing along in no time. It resonates a strong desire for revenge and you can feel it deep in your core, before it rips up through your skin and tears you apart.
“Liars” is up next and it’s a very dramatic song which will haunt you through to your bones. It is chilling and surrounded by this dark aura, as its strong, prominent vocals radiate so much feeling it leaves you intoxicated.
Colt 48’s self titled EP is short, but sweet. You feel yourself building and warming to this heavy rock sound and before you know it, its taken right away. It teases and seduces and it leaves you craving for more.
My only critique is that it isn’t long enough and I want to hear more from this rock duo, who out of nowhere have appeared in my inbox.
I need more.
