Ah, the BulletBoys. Yes, those BulletBoys from 1988. There may be only one BulletBoy left from way back when, lead singer and guitarist Marq Torien, but let me tell you, I was more than surprised to hear Torien sing his songs to perfection. He has not lost a step. I had not seen this band since the Freakshow Tour of 1991-1992. There was only one problem, in my opinion, with the show. They only played eight songs. Yes, you got your monies worth, but I for one was definitely craving more. It was great hearing the songs “Hard as a Rock,” “THC Groove,” and “Hell on my Heels.” I felt 21 again, but I wanted more. Their new album, Elefante, which came out last year if you didn’t know, is their eighth studio release and it rocks. This was their last show on their 2016 tour, at least in the US. Torien mentioned during the set that they were going overseas to play for the troops. I like bands that do this. You have to respect it in this day and age. The night was not complete until you heard their smash hit “Smooth Up in Ya” off of their 1988 self-titled album. They saved that for the eighth and final song. Torien was dead on. If you get the chance to see these guys live, don’t wait twenty-some years like I did. I’m still craving more.
