March 13, 2017 – Los Angeles, CA – It’s 2017 and Nor Cal’s Blessed Curse is back raging their way through 5 news songs of scathing metal, exemplified by the first preview – a lyric video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iuPxWBBCvU from their forthcoming EP, Beware of the Night.
“Nightbreed” picks up where things left off on their debut album as the trio hack and slash with some deadly thrash exemplified in this new lyric video created by Rafael Ortega, from label mates Sicocis. The CD was once again produced by Juan Urteaga (Testament, Exodus, Sadus) at Trident Studios in Martinez, CA with cover art by Brian Lewis (DevilDriver, Zakk Wylde, Cultural Warfare) at Stone Design and will be released March 31st on M-Theory Audio. Pre-orders, including t-shirt bundles, available at www.m-theoryaudio.com/store
“This video is truly a historic chapter in the Blessed Curse history book because it marks the first official video from the band,” explains drummer Derek Bean. “I can’t say enough about the pro quality of the Beware of the Night EP project and everything that has gone into it from the time in the studio to this lyric video and everything in between. After first view of the ‘Nightbreed’ video, my initial reaction was ‘this is absolutely killer’. I love the Evil Dead/Blair Witch camera views of something going through the woods. The vibe of the song was definitely captured to the T in this vid.”
Blessed Curse’s core includes drummer Derek Bean and singer/guitarist Tyler Satterlee who began playing music as kids and gained acclaim a decade ago under their previous moniker Devastator releasing a couple of praised demos and touring all over the west coast as part of the burgeoning thrash metal revival playing with peer bands like Warbringer, Hatchet, Fueled By Fire, Merciless Death and opening local area shows for larger acts like Kreator, Overkill, Napalm Death and Sodom. Changing their name to the more unique Blessed Curse 2012 and recording their debut the band supported it via national tours with Rattlehead and Sacrificial Slaughter before deciding to put the brakes on the band for a bit while Derek attended college. Now, with Dan Keenan on bass, it’s time to get back into the game and Blessed Curse has several dates booked in the Bay Area and Central California, with more live opportunities in the works.
