At long last, 30 years after it was shelved, the long awaited album from Black Bambi has released their self-titled CD! The 80’s influence can be felt from start finish, and on every track. Black Bambi transports you on enjoyable trip back in time while simultaneously keeping it fresh.
The upbeat “Mary’s Birthday” kicks off the album with the questions “Who is Mary and where it the party?” My guess would be Sunset Boulevard! “Down” begins eerily and takes many twists and turns. There is a lot going on here to keep you rocking out. The guitar bass has a unique groove that grabs the listener and refuses to let go. “The Celebration ” finds the listener singing along with the strong lyrics in this song. Becoming self aware is always something to celebrate especially with great guitar licks.
The energizing lyrics and guitar in “99 and a Half” gets you moving from the onset. There is definitely a grittiness that takes over your state of being. The hooks in “Lay Me Down” will stay with anyone after listening. One can’t help being drawn back to this song, and the great lyrics make repeat listens a must! “Soul of a Child” concludes this album with undeniable ’80’s influence. The total package will make anyone a Black Bambi fan. Black Bambi allows a fun-filled adventure back in time before bringing you to present day, all without missing a note.
I’m thrilled this album has finally seen the light of day. You can pick up your copy by clicking any of the following links:
