Heavy Things’ first single “Sold” is out via InVogue Records.
The Columbus, Ohio band are taking great steps in the right direction with their music. “Sold” is the first track released off their full-length forthcoming album, Goner.
The song kick-starts with an easy sound leading into an electric guitar, and softly singing melody, “I’m fighting it / I’m constantly grabbing for moments that slip / Like sand between the fingers in my balled up fist.”
Their lyrics bleed into a track that speaks on lack of confidence. The style of the song sounds almost like post-country rock. Their souls were poured into this track. The theme of the song is self-doubt and learning to cope with being who you are. It’s a great ego-boosting anthem for those moments of feeling low.
Heavy Things’ song-writing talents are exceptional with their delightful and pleasurable uniqueness of energy.
The production was greatly put together. The stellar instruments collide perfectly into the lyrics. There is an interesting progression as the band strongly connects with the tune.. It is a real and pure song that speaks for itself. All in all, it is an excellent song from Heavy Things.
“Sold” sets the tone for the upcoming album and doesn’t disappoint in the end. I am sold on this song and wanting to hear so much more from them. With that, there will definitely be a whole album review coming soon.
Heavy Things are: Will Deely, Alex Giles, Chris Heidel and Casey Costello.
