Maryland’s own 86 Bullets return with The Elephant in the Room, their second EP put out this year. The band, singer Steve Graybeal, drummer Jerry Oxendine, bassist Eric Dee, and guitarist Chris Elliot have once again have put out a high quality disc that showcases their talents. Although a little darker than their first release earlier in the year, this EP is more melodic than the first. “Reason To Hate” start things off and this song flat out rocks. Elliot’s guitar solo along with guest bassist Chaz Grimaldi of Grim Reaper make this my personal favorite on this release. The ballad “Where I Belong” showcases Graybeal’s vocal talents and quite possibly might be their best overall song musically. “Under The Sun” is a melodic rocker with a great rhythm section with Dee’s bass and Oxendine’s drums. Elliot’s guitar work is quite exceptional on this song. 86 Bullets have been a band that brings inspirational and positive energy to every live show they perform at and that energy is surely captured here on this EP.
Produced by Josh Clark and the band, you can purchase the new disc at any of their live shows as well as their webpage www.86bullets.com.
You can catch them playing live in Columbia, MD at Sonoma’s opening for New York’s WildStreet on November 11th.
