Alaska’s own 36 Crazyfists really brought the aggression tonight. A mix of heavy, fast guitars with some really impressive drum work highlighted the set. Brock Lindow’s vocals were something to behold all by themselves: a unique blend of powerful roars and screams which had a grungy, almost nu-metal feel at times, all while commanding the stage. Drummer Kyle Baltus is deserving of a mention because he was a sight to see behind the kit: very active and a real showman for being in a position which can be overlooked when at the back of the stage. Guitarist Steve Holt and bassist Mick Whitney are not to be looked down upon because they absolutely did their parts and delivered, but Brock and Kyle brought the show and the star power to the performance.
36 Crazyfists’ seventh album, Time and Trauma, was released in February. Catch them currently touring with In This Moment.
